Review: Willing to Learn

Willing to Learn

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved it, great characters and story line and EmKay Connor has a flair for drawing you in to her book and keeping you there.

This story is about Meredith who is betrothed to a Prince - where her Prince is from they have a tradition that the fiancee has to go and be instructed on how to make love in order to keep him satisfied so Meredith finds herself on Tresorier Du Coeur - an island paradise.

Anders Collier is there undercover and hates impersonating a gigolo so he is insubordinate and infuriating and tries not to get picked, however Meredith has plans of her own and chooses him.

Madame Duval is the owner of the seduction retreat and knows when people are meant to be together as she has visions but things are happening that she can not figure out and keeps disappearing so this leads her to be is under suspicion by Anders.

The story progresses with the lead characters getting to know each other and both of them fighting their feelings for one another. This story is full of intrigue, kidnappings, friendship, and of course love. I really enjoyed this book and can not wait for the next installment in the Tresorier du Coeur books as I want to learn more about Madame Duval too. Congrats Ms Connor for keeping me entertained and I look forward to reading more from you.

REVIEW Barefoot With A Bad Boy by Roxanne St Claire

Barefoot with a Bad Boy (Barefoot Bay Undercover, #3)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I received and ARC of this book for an honest review.

Phenomenal suspenseful romance story telling by the wonderful Roxanne St Claire and a MOST DEFINITE well deserved 5 stars for this book. I have also read all the Barefoot Bay books so I could not wait for Gabe's story to come into words.

Well what a story Gabe Rossi has - this book answers all the questions on why Gabe an ex CIA agent is the way he is and what happened to the people he thinks he has lost in his life.

Gabe thinks the woman he loved and his son that he never knew are dead and he is in grief only to have Lila Wickham turn up in Barefoot Bay smelling like Isadora Winter and telling him she IS the woman he loves but can he believe it or is it a cruel trick the CIA are playing on him.

Lila Wickham is in danger and turns to the only man she can trust with her son's life Gabe Rossi but in order for him to help her she has to convince him that she is Isadora his lost love but because of plastic surgery she looks totally different, she acts different and she knows Gabe's instinct are to trust no one so she has an uphill battle on her hands. Throw in undercover spies out to silence them by killing them and you have one awesome suspenseful story.

I loved every page turn of this book, there are twists in the plot that keep you on edge and now I feel bereft that I have finished this wonderful book. Well Done Roxanne on an exceptionally well written novel - you gave Gabe the book he most definitely deserved.

I don’t know about you, but when I check out an author's bio, it’s usually because I’ve read a book I liked and wondered about the person behind it. Let's skip the formal bio and I'll give you the inside scoop on who Roxanne St. Claire really is.
First of all, call me Rocki. Everyone does. Evidently, when my mother brought me home from the hospital I seemed too scrawny and small to pull off “Roxanne” (she’d read Cyrano de Bergerac while pregnant or I would have been Judy) so they called me Rocki.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, the youngest of five (overachievers, every one), and fell in love with words and stories the summer I read Gone With The Wind. That year, for my twelfth birthday, my parents gave me a typewriter (with italic font – it was the coolest thing) and from that day on, I’ve had my fingers on a keyboard, pounding out love stories for fun. My AP English teacher taught me the two most important lessons an aspiring author ever needs: 1) verbs are the key to life and 2) a writer should get a real job. After attending UCLA and graduating with a degree in communications, I tried acting and television broadcasting. Oh, they aren’t real jobs? I learned that the hard way. I changed my last name from Zink to St. Claire because a news producer told me Roxanne Zink had too many harsh consonants for a TV personality – apparently Katie Couric didn’t get the memo. I got some fun gigs, and even met Tom Hanks when I did a guest appearance on Bosom Buddies. I liked on camera work, but wasn’t too crazy about starvation, so I moved to Boston and got that “real” job. In fact, I placed my foot on the bottom rung of the corporate ladder and didn’t look down until I’d climbed all the way up to the level of Senior Vice President at the world’s largest public relations firm. On the way up, I met the man of my dreams in an elevator. Two years later – in the same elevator! – he asked me to marry him and I wisely said yes.
I stayed in PR, moved to Miami, had a few babies, lost my home in a hurricane, built another one a few hours north and all along, I kept writing my “stories” for fun. One night, I read a particularly fabulous romance novel that changed my life for good. That night, I decided I wanted to make someone else feel as whole and happy as that author made me feel. (Everyone asks! It was Nobody’s Baby But Mine by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.) With two small children and one big “real” job, writing my first novel wasn’t easy, but I did finish a manuscript that managed to get the attention of a literary agent. She told me to do one thing and one thing fast: write another book. (The first one is usually a “learner” book, honestly.) That second manuscript sold to Simon & Schuster’s Pocket Books and was released in 2003 as Tropical Getaway. Since then, I’ve written almost thirty more, in multiple genres, and long ago replaced the corporate ladder with the rollercoaster of publishing as a full-time novelist. Finally, writing is my real job.
Today, I live in a small beach community in Florida with my husband and our two teenagers, and one spectacular Australian Terrier named Pepper. When I have spare time, I spend it with my family, but also dig in the dirt with my plants, travel for business and fun, hang out with my many writer friends, and, of course, I love to read. I’m still crazy about words and stories and hope to write at least a hundred books in my lifetime. And, yes, verbs are the key to life. My favorites? Love. Work. Play.
xoxo
Rocki

Review: The Unforgettable Hero: A Playful Brides Story

The Unforgettable Hero: A Playful Brides Story

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. I give it 5 stars.

Cecelia Harcourt lives in fear of an arranged marriage to her cousin Percy so she writes a romance novel in order to get money so that she and her sister have the means to live on their own and not be at the mercy of her Aunt and Uncle. On the day she takes her novel to the publisher an accident happens and she loses her memory.

Adam Hunt is walking and witnesses the accident so rushes to Cecelia's aid, he takes her to his brothers house, sends a servant for the doctor and then goes back to pick up her papers. When Cecelia awakes she thinks she is the heroine in her book and that Adam is her Fiance.

This story is heart warming, emotional, brings out friendships and love. I loved how Adam looks after Cece and does not let on about anything as he does not want her to be frightened. A thoroughly enjoyable read and I can not wait for the next in the series.

Review: Everything at Last

Everything at Last

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved it. I received an Arc of this book for an honest review. It gets a definite 5 stars from me.

I want to leave here in Magnolia beach. Kimberly made the characters and place so real that you felt you were there and I just love small town romances. The story is about secrets, attraction. hot alpha men, friendships, jealousy, and of course love.

Molly Richards owns the Latte Dah coffee shop, she has been hurt in the past and stays clear of the men in the town and she keeps herself to herself. One day her landlady has to leave town for an emergency and asks Molly to take over the organizing of the Childrens fair. Molly is left with no option to say yes even though she knows she is in it over her head and starts to freak. Helena Mollys friend tries to calm her down and invites her over to her grandmas house for tea.

Vet Tate Harris is also one of the single men in the town but stays clear of the local ladies as he hates the feeling of awkwardness when a relationship break ups, he however can not help himself in helping a damsel in distress. So when his friend Helena asks him over to her Grans for tea,and when he gets there, he sees Mollys there too -it is only then during conversation that he realises when she tells Molly that he knows how the fair works that he has been head worked. Of course he offers his help and this is the start of a beautiful story.

You are swept away with this story and it is great to see Molly start to trust herself with the fair and her attraction to Tate. Tate is definitely a true alpha hero and I can not wait for more Magnolia Beach.

One Little Thing

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review and I loved it. Magnolia Beach I want to live there.

Sophie Cooper moved away from Magnolia beach when her fathers affair became public knowledge, so years later she returns to open a B & B on the water in Magnolia beach and has the pleasure of watching a hunky man walk his dog everyday. She thinks he does not know she is doing this but Quinn Haslett knows and is secretly thrilled that she is.

Quinn had a crush on Sophie when they were younger and it was him that found out about the affair and told his tutor - who made it common knowledge.

Sophie can not believe that the guy she has been watching was the geeky shy kid from her teens, Quinn and Sophie becomes friends again and the attraction is instant and even though he knows Sophie and him have an amazing chemistry - he is frightened that the secret he carries will be found out and end their friendship.

This is a story has lovable characters, its about friendship, guilt, building new relationships, love and trust. I just love the small town romances and the geeky shy guy turning into a hunk. I give this 5 stars.

Review: A White Wedding Christmas

A White Wedding Christmas

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received and ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have loved all the Brides and Belles books so far and was looking forward to Natalie's story and it did not disappoint.

Natalie Sharpe loves to help arrange weddings, as she is a co owner of From This Moment wedding facility but she does not believe in love. All her friends have recently found their H.E.A.'s and she is surrounded by friends in love. Natalie also Hates Christmas and tries to go away at this time of year to escape it all- except this year her childhood friend Lily is getting married and wants it at her facility so Natalie asks her partners do they mind doing this wedding as a favour to her and they say yes. This is where the fun begins.

Natalie always had a crush on Lily's brother Colin when they were younger so she is dreading seeing him again at the wedding but on the day of the meeting with Lily to arrange some of the details about her wedding she is anxiously waiting to see her friend when in walks Colin and no Lily and she is instantly blown away by the attraction she still feels towards him. He then explains that he is the one arranging Lily's wedding and Natalie realizes that she will have to deal with him a lot over the following weeks.

Colin is out of his depth trying to arrange his sisters wedding, she would just like to go off and do it quietly but he wants her to have a special wedding day- so Lily tells him - YOU HAVE TO ARRANGE IT. This throws him and the lovely Natalie together. Colin is attracted to Natalie but he is not sure how she will react to him after an incident that happened in the past, he just hopes she will forgive him.

Natalie and Colin fight their attraction and decide that they will be friends only, Colin does not understand why Natalie does not like Christmas and makes a bet with her that he can get her Christmas spirit back. This is when their friendship develops into more as Colin gives it is all to win the bet.

This is a beautiful and heart wrenching story about family, divorce, friendships, trust, and of course love. The whole story flows from one part to the next and the ending is absolutely perfect. I give it a definite 5 stars and just wish there was more in this series but even though there is not I know that Andrea will have another great series coming for us soon and I can not wait. Congrats.

Release Day Tainted Love by Addison Moore

TITLE: Tainted Love (A Totally '80s Romance 2)
AUTHOR: Addison Moore
COVER: Gaffey Media
GENRE: YA Romance
RELEASE DAY: February 18, 2016

September 1985

Senior year is really shaping up to be something. A week before school starts, I get accused of shoplifting right in front of my crush, Russell James, aka The Preppy Prince. He makes my entire body melt like water, and I hate that he has that effect on me. He’s totally not my type, and I refuse to be ruled by a few wayward hormones. Only he seems sort of cool, and, well, he looks pretty hot in his football uniform. But who am I kidding? He’s got Amanda Prescott his preppy match making a grab for his jersey. Russell could never be into someone like me. We’re from totally different planets. Besides, I’ve done something that I’m pretty sure someone like Russell James would never approve of. I’m not so sure I approve either. I’d die if anyone ever found out. Yeah, senior year is really shaping up to be something.

Heather Knowles is the coolest chick I know. She’s a little wild but she’s genuine, honest, and drop dead gorgeous. The more I get to know her, the more I want to spend time with her. She’s finally opening up to me, and a part of me really wants to tell Heather all about my haunted past—that I’m not the person anyone thinks I am. If my mother had her way, I’d go to the grave with that info. But Heather is probably the only person who would understand. She’s so beautiful. I don’t know how I got all the way to senior year without getting to know her better. Now the only thing I want is to make up for lost time.

My name is Amanda Prescott, and Russell James is mine. I’ve known Russell all my life. Our parents belong to the same country club, social circles, and tax brackets. Russell needs to face it. We are destined to be together. That little slut, Heather? She doesn’t stand a chance. Once I let the entire student body in on her dirty secret, Russell will run straight into my arms ducking for cover. There’s never been anything or anyone that I’ve wanted that I didn’t get. Yeah, my name is Amanda Prescott, and Russell James is mine.

CAPTURED BY A CELTIC WARRIOR

CAPTURED BY A CELTIC WARRIOR

Bestselling and award-winning authors bring you four never-before-published novellas of searing passions that span the ages. Four fierce warriors from Ireland and Scotland... Four heroines determined to resist them... One dagger steeped in the blood and treachery of kings.

The King’s Outlaw, by Kris Kennedy
1193 - Outlawed and on the run, Tadhg O’Malley has one mission: escape with the valuable dagger of Jerusalem before a brutal nobleman hunts him down. Trapped and almost cornered, his plan is simple: kidnap the innocent merchant with the long hair and complicated eyes. Igniting a raging passion is not part of the plan. Neither is falling in love. Both endanger their lives, his mission, and with it, the kingdom.

Taken by the Highlander, by Eliza Knight
1306 - A week before Lady Rose Munro is to wed a neighboring laird, she is abducted on the road by a wicked and dangerously handsome stranger. Highland warrior, Malcolm Montgomery has been ordered by King Robert the Bruce to steal Rose and her son from the suspected traitor she is about to marry—gifting him with an ancient and much sought after dagger as payment. Rose shouldn’t trust her captor. Shouldn’t feel her body heat at his simple touch, or allow him to press his fervent lips to hers… Malcolm shouldn’t be seducing the woman he is sworn to protect. Shouldn’t desire her, for she’s not meant to be his… Succumbing to passion threatens them both, and falling in love is absolutely not an option.

Stolen by a Highland Rogue, by Vonda Sinclair
1619 - When the infamous dagger is stolen from Highland chief, Dugald MacKerrick, he will do whatever it takes to reclaim it, even abduct the wife of the aristocratic thief, but what if his beautiful French hostage isn't who he thinks she is? Deep in the rugged Scottish Highlands, Dugald discovers not only is his captive, Camille Bouchard, more than he expected, so is the passion raging between them, threatening everything he thought mattered to him.

Her Wicked Highlander, by Jennifer Haymore
1816 - Maxwell White is the newest member of the Highland Knights, an elite mercenary group sworn to protect the Crown. His first assignment is to keep independent and spirited Aila MacKerrick safe from a madman determined to get his hands on a treasure she unwittingly possesses. But Aila isn’t going to simply allow some Highlander—as handsome as he might be—to capture her and whisk her away to an abandoned castle. She’ll fight to the death for her freedom...as soon as she rids herself of this pesky, insistent desire that makes her far more inclined to run into his arms than away from them....
