If I Stay by Tamara Morgan

Image          Image
Hi,
The 2nd in my book blitz is If I Stay by Tamara Morgan, again this is the first time I have read anything by this author and as before I will be looking out for more by this lady.  I read this book in a few hours, as I found it difficult to put it down.  The story is about a recovering alcoholic and a sweet local girl. They both have done things that they are not proud of and together they help each other to come clean and heal. Read on for a summary and excerpt.
I give this book 5 stars.

Summary
Ryan Lucas would rather be anywhere but Ransom Creek, Connecticut. After losing his high-adrenaline career as a Hollywood stunt driver, he's had to tuck his tail between his legs and take up employment as a chauffeur for the Montgomerys, a wealthy hotelier family.
Amy Sanders has returned home to Ransom Creek to take over her mother's former position as nanny to the Montgomerys—bringing her close to dashing Jake Montgomery once again. She grew up with a major crush on Jake, and it's not easy to leave those feelings behind, even though her friendship with the hard-edged family chauffeur, Ryan, has a sizzling undercurrent of undeniable attraction.
Amy's determined to prove to Ryan that life at Montgomery Manor isn't all bad, but each time they draw closer Jake swoops in. Amy is torn between two men—and two worlds. And Ryan is rapidly coming to learn that if he wants to make Amy his, he'll have to prove to her that life downstairs can be everything they both want.
Excerpt
Amy scooted out from underneath Ryan and got to shaky legs. Giving in to the indulgence of a backward glance to find him staring openmouthed at her, she lifted her shirt off and tossed it to the hallway floor.
“What are you doing?” he asked, his voice gruff.
She kept moving, an extra sway in her hips as she unbuttoned her shorts and shimmied them off her hips. “Leaving you a trail of bread crumbs in case you get lost along the way.”
“Amy…”
She reached behind her and flicked open her serviceable white cotton bra. The only way to dress up that kind of bland plant material was to dangle it enticingly from one fingertip, which she did as she reached her door. It wasn’t locked—unless someone wanted to steal her ancient ten-pound laptop or her collection of Old World maps, there wasn’t much to take—so she pushed it open and slipped in.
One. Two. Three. Four. She flicked on the lights, assuming Ryan was right behind her. Five. Six. Seven. Was he seriously not going to follow her in here? Eight. Nine. Nine and a half.
She slipped out of her panties—more of the same boring white cotton, though at least they had bits of scalloped lace at the edges—and tossed them out the open door.
Nine and two-thirds. Nine and three-quarters. What the heck came after that?
“Goddammit.” Ryan stormed through the door and tossed all her clothes onto the floor. “Are you trying to kill me?”
He stopped, suspended in a swirl of desire that hit him from all sides, holding him momentarily aloft. In his haste to somehow find the ability to both walk and gather up Amy’s clothes, he’d forgotten that he held all her underclothes. Nothing stood between him and her completely naked body except distance and air—both of which mattered for absolutely zero.

Author Biography
Tamara Morgan is a contemporary romance author of humorous, heartfelt stories with flawed heroes and heroines designed to get your hackles up and make your heart melt. Her long-lived affinity for romance novels survived a B.A. degree in English Literature, after which time she discovered it was much more fun to create stories than analyze the life out of them.
Whether building Victorian dollhouses, consuming mass quantities of coffee and wine, or crying over cheesy 1950s musicals, Tamara commits to her flaws like every good heroine should. She lives in the Inland Northwest with her husband, daughter, and variety of household pets and only occasionally complains about the weather.

Book Blitz - Four Weddings and A Break Up - Elyssa Patrick

PatrickBookBlitz
ElyssaPatrick

Hi,
This is my first book blitz ever, so I hope I have done this correctly, and it is for Elyssa Patrick and Four Weddings and a Break Up.  This is the first book I have read by this author and let me just say I am hooked now.  This story is extremely well written, with a very good story line and I felt like I was there in the story.  Ginny and Wes are like a real couple, they have their ups and downs and their story is very realistic. I recommend this books to readers that love a good romance novel and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  I give this book 5 stars.

Summary

 One fake relationship . . .

Ginny Michaels has always been a good girl and—ever since surviving a school shooting a little over a year ago—hailed a hero. Except she doesn’t feel like a hero. She can’t even have a one-night stand with sexy Wes Dalton properly. When her big city fling resurfaces in her hometown with an intriguing proposition, she’s powerless to resist. A fake relationship is exactly what’s needed to keep her small town’s matchmakers at bay during the upcoming wedding season. If only her attraction to Wes were as easy to ignore.

Too many real kisses . . .

Wes Dalton doesn’t have many regrets, and that includes his night with Ginny. But he’s always hoped to strengthen his relationship with his estranged family. When his father’s health takes a bad turn, Wes puts his life on hold and moves to the meddling seaside town of Cape Hope. With his barriers in place—and a beautiful woman to help him hold them up—he’s prepared for anything. Or so he thinks. Despite his determination to leave as soon as the summer is over, those fake kisses are starting to feel an awful lot like the real thing.

Excerpt

The door creaked open. A young, dark-haired woman came out into the darkness. She held a tray with a beer on top of it. It wasn’t until she stepped into the dim light that he could make out her features.
She had the type of curves that separated the women from the girls.

Generous breasts that made his mouth water and lush hips he could hold onto. Shapely legs under a flared-out blue skirt and soft arms. An oval-shaped face with a pouty, pink mouth that begged for kissing, and deep brown eyes framed by sooty lashes. Glossy, rich brown hair tumbled over her shoulders, the ends dancing along the top of her breasts in a v-neck, white cotton t-shirt.

She was beautiful, sexy, and he was interested. Very interested.

Even though his whole body tightened in anticipation, he kept his stance and tone relaxed. “That for me?”

“The beer?” She glanced down at the tray and let out a nervous laugh that did something to his insides.

He found himself stepping closer, trying to understand this sudden need drumming in his veins. He’d never felt this pull before . . . there was something about her that made him want to know more. Like how she smelled, how she tasted, and how she would look naked in his arms. Well, he knew the answer to that last one.

She would look damn good naked in his arms.

“Yeah. It’s for—” Words died on her lips as she glanced up at him, her eyes widening as she realized he was inches away, their bodies facing each other as if they were about to dance. Not any of that slow waltzing thing but a dirty bump and grind where she’d rub herself against him. He’d been wrong. He thought her eyes were brown. Brown was too commonplace. Rich like melted dark chocolate. She gave brown-eyed girl a whole new meaning.

As their gazes held and lingered, those brown eyes darkened with desire. A faint blush stole her cheeks, and she licked her pouty lips. The air grew thick with want, the tension crackling. Then she ducked her head, her blush deepening.
