The Trouble With Paradise by Jill Shalvis

The Trouble With Paradise by Jill Shalvis

4 out of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed the adventures and misadventures of Dorie Anderson. In this story you have mishaps - small and greater, physical attraction, romances and murder. Throw in sexy hero's, beautiful women, a boat and a murder and you have enough to keep you entertained with this novel.  I was left guessing right to the end on "Who did it?".  The character of Dorie is very realistic and lovable and I think we all have a bit of her, in us all and it was a bonus that the klutz finally gets the two adorable guys vying for her attention.  Well worth a read if you like quirky love stories.

AN UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER BY DEB MARLOWE

AN UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER BY DEB MARLOWE
Nov 14, 13  ·  edit

Read from October 19 to 20, 2013

What a great book, this story is about an orphaned little girl, a young woman, a recluse and a woman named Hestia who reminds me of a fairy godmother. The story starts in a museum where Hestia has noticed and been watching the little girl and young woman for a while and with her insight she realises that they would be good for one another, so she takes steps to ensure they meet. Next the recluse arrives to find his ward (the little girl) who has disappeared once again to be at the museum where she feels closest to her parents and he finds her with Lisbeth ( the young woman), the attraction is instant between them and due to a lie from Aurelia, Lisbeth becomes her governess. The story then goes on to how Aurelia, Lisbeth ( who has also ran away from home) and Edmund all come back to life in a story of love and hope. Great short story, if you like historical feel good romances then this is a must read.

Review for Love On Main Street by Juliet Blackwell, Rachael Herron (Goodreads Author), Lisa Hughey (Goodreads Author), Ruby Laska (Goodreads Author), Cecilia Gray (Goodreads Author), Adrienne Bell (Goodreads Author), L.G.C. Smith (Goodreads Author)

If you love Christmas and funny, sad and sweet love stories, then this book is definitely for you. These short stories evolve around Snow Creek and its inhabitants, Snow Creek is a picturesque town made for christmas and love. These stories are about love- lost and found, old crushes and new love, they are all well told and plenty of descriptions are given so that you can imagine you are there, great characters and their ups and downs. I would recommend this book to my friends and family as it has the feel good factor.

This is a Review for A Groom For Christmas by Cara Marsi

Given 4 out of 5 stars

This is a story of old friendships, an interfering mum and a bad boy and an ex! The story starts when Graceann needs to find a fiancé for a Christmas holiday at home with her family, in-order to stop her mother matchmaking. While having something to eat in a local diner an old acquaintance (Jake) walks in and Graceann and her friend both decide that he can be the pretend fiancé if he agrees, and he does, as he wanted to get to know Graceann when they were younger but did not think he had a chance. When they go to Graceann's home they find out that her mum has also invited an old boyfriend of Graceann's to stay  and thats when the fun begins, jealousy raises it's head and love comes to shine.  But due to Jake having a secret to why he is back in town and not being open in their relationship, Graceann wonders if it can last.  My only negative point is that at the start of the story Graceann describes her family to Jake in detail but seeing as they lived in the same town and went to the same school one would assume he knew of them, I know the readers don't but the wording of that part just does not seem correct to me. Also considering he was a 'bad boy' none of her family recognised him, other than that critiscm the book is a good short read.

IN THE CLEAR BY TAMARA MORGAN

Review 4 out of 5 stars

This is a story about friendships and secret desires.  The story revolves around twins - an overprotective brother called Sean and a mishap of a sister called Lexie and their best friend Fletcher.  Fletcher has a secret job that he has kept hidden from his two friends, this as because he has been trying to overcome his own personal fears.  His secret comes out when a picture of him rescuing a woman is published and the town then calls him a local hero.  This leads to a series of events and a mishap by Lexie and she ends up going on a search and rescue mission with him, and then this leads to love.  A great short story.

Review for The Scandal Before Christmas by Elizabeth Essex.

Hi this is my first ever blog, I read quite a bit and I have decided to publish some of my reviews for the books I have read and I am currently reading.  At the moment I am doing a degree course and I have not been able to read as much romance novels as I would like, so some of these reviews that I will be publishing are from books that I have recently read.

This first review is from a book I read today.

The Scandal Before Christmas by Elizabeth Essex

It all starts with a tyrant of a father telling his son (Ian) he has to marry to produce an heir because his brother has been injured, the son then lies and says he is already married and then it is a race against time to find a bride. In a chance meeting in a pub Ian meets an old ship mate and tells him his tale and what type of wife he is looking for, and just by chance his ship mates daughter fits the bill. The story then goes on to their meeting and how you can not read a book by its cover, as he assumes Anne is plain and he goes onto find out she is everything he wants and needs. This is a very enjoyable historical novel, well worth a read. The Scandal Before Christmas
