MY REVIEW
This set of anthologies are brilliant if you want a quick read, that you can pick up when you have a few minutes to spare. The stories were about the paranormal - ghosts, witches and Death Angels and other creatures. Each author has there own style and I enjoyed all these stories.

Bewitching Gypsy - Linda Carroll-Bradd -
This is a lovely story of a widowed witch, a baby and a ranch owner. I would have loved a full book about these characters and a continuation to their story.

Garden of Souls - Michelle Ziegler -
This is about Miranda and Sean and Thomas, Sean wants to date Miranda but she is in love with Thomas so this contains a love triangle with a twist.

If This Be Madness - Echo Shea  -
This story is about a Hag, who has never had children and her husband, who loves her, even in death.

The Ghost of a Chance - Lily Carlyle -
This is a story about Julie and Sean, Julie and Sean dated, then Sean left so when she bumps into him in the local bar her stomach drops as she has never stopped loving him. Sean is there with work and when Julie comes to the bar he buys her a drink so that he can talk to her again. This is a beautiful love story with a twist.

Do You Believe in Ghosts - Anne Higa -
Jeff returns home after a time away to his deceased mothers house after leaving his job after a disagreement. The house does not look any different and neither does his mum. This is a story of ghosts and second chances. I would love a full version of this story.

Encantado - Havva Murat -
This story is about a young man frightened of water, a friend and his sister. Remy likes Marcos's sister Rafaela but Marcos is very adamant that nothing is to happen between them. One night they go into the disused theme park, Marcos and his girlfriend leave Remy and Rafeala together and this is where the nightmare begins. I would have loved to learn more about these characters too.

Where Angels Tread - Christy Thomas
This story is about a Death Angel, the spirit of his wife, in another body and a little girl. I would have loved a longer version of this story as there is so much more to these characters.

The Spooky Hollow Café - Lisa A. Adams
This story is about a witch, 2 ghosts, a cafe and a new employee Jason. Aggie can not seem to keep staff because of her 'friends', Roderick is a jealous ghost that makes appearances at the Spooky Hollow Cafe, he takes an instant dislike to Jason and tries to get him to leave. This is a great story just loved how they work things out.

SYPNOSIS

Bewitching Gypsy by Linda Carroll Bradd
Fiona Mikolas is an outcast, branded by her fiery red hair and a purple birth mark—both signs of the devil. Two years earlier, she survived an influenza outbreak that claimed her peddler husband, Gregos, and her baby son, Tito. Now she lives a solitary life, traveling a circuit of southern states in America and selling healing potions. Until the night of All Hallow’s Eve, when her lonely life is changed by the arrival of two strangers in her camp.
Beaten and robbed, rancher Hagan Fletcher stumbles toward the light of a campfire in south Texas, intent on finding a way to retrieve his stolen stallion. When he awakens, he’s forgotten his name and how he came to be in the company of an exotic beauty. Fiona’s ways are a mystery but when her quick-thinking saves his life again, he looks deeper beneath the surface to who she really is.

Garden of Souls by Michelle Ziegler
Something, or someone, pulled Miranda to purchase the old carriage house. It was a great deal, most likely because of the cemetery or the unexpected resident, Thomas. The ghost she finds within the sanctuary of her new home should have scared her. Instead she finds herself falling in love with him.
Now, a few days from Halloween, Thomas continues to push her to live her life. He wants one night though; the one night of magic for the dead. Torn by her love for Thomas and her need for reality and human contact, Miranda takes a chance with Sean. Someone who’s alive. The guilt is eating away at her. Sean’s nice and he hasn’t run off yet, pushed away by her craziness. Miranda knows she can’t split her herself.
Choosing her heart’s desire doesn’t seem possible, but living and loving another seems like a life riddled with pain.

If This Be Madness by Echo Shea
Don’t let me go…
Those are words that break her. When the person you love most is gone, how do you let go?
And, more importantly, who will you be once you do?

Ghost of a Chance by Lily Carlyle
After years of having her college boyfriend Sean as an ex with benefits, Julie believes he is finally, irrevocably out of her life. Forever. And it breaks her heart.
Until one night he shows up at the neighborhood hangout—with a mysterious job, luxurious car, and fabulous digs. Not to mention a new determination to woo Julie.
Even as her mind says no, her heart—and other parts of her body—is saying yes, yes, yes!

Do You Believe in Ghosts by Anne Higa
Jeff Austin-LeGrange has been fleeing from the remnants of his dark and haunted childhood his entire life. The past always catches up to us, and his is no exception.
Alice Hopkins, Jeff's high school sweetheart, has tried to forget him and tried to move on. You never forget your first love.
When Jeff's mother dies and Alice's father falls ill, the two are forced to confront their mutual history and their deepest desires. One thing is sure: neither of their lives will ever be the same again. Perhaps, the past can be overcome. Perhaps, it is not too late to believe in miracles. Perhaps, more than one couple will be reunited this Fall.
Who can say? With a little magic, anything is possible.

Encantado by Havva Murat
Spending Friday night in an abandoned amusement park sounded like an awesome idea to motherless, teenage track star, Remy Bordeaux—empty rides with no queues, and time alone with his best friend’s alluring sister, Rafaela, was sure to make for a memorable night.
But Friday night at Six Flags became memorable for all the wrong reasons when the park turned out to not be so abandoned after all. Rafaela goes missing after getting cozy with Remy, and everyone thinks that Remy is responsible, even his best friend.
It will take another trespassing trip to Six Flags for the truth of Rafaela’s disappearance to be revealed and for the riddle of Remy’s birth to be unraveled.

Where Angels Tread by Christy Thomas
Loralei takes extreme measures to prove her cheating husband has forsaken their bows by seeking confirmation from a fortune-teller. The truth revealed is that she’s been unfaithful in a six hundred year old spiritual marriage.
Samael, the Angel of Death must assist a young girl’s soul in ascending to heaven. An unexpected encounter with his estranged wife distracts him and the precious soul is lost.
Working together to save the endangered soul, they find the price to reach her is higher than they both anticipate.

Spooky Hollow Café by Lisa A. Adams
Aggie Pierce owns a quaint little spot, the Spooky Hollow Cafe'. Tourist come from all over the nation to her confections diner for the entertainment. Real live interacting ghosts make appearances once a day, you just don't know when.
But, when a ghost's crush becomes an obsession, just how far will a hero have to go to save Aggie's life?

Top Two favourite Halloween traditions of the authors:

Anne Higa
1. Fun decorations. I love beautiful Christmas decorations but Halloween is so much more colorful and fun. And creepy.
2. Chocolate. Okay, I can't lie. I love Halloween candy, and leftovers. Oh, the leftovers....

Michelle Ziegler
Traditions have changed over the last few years, because of kids. My favorite tradition used to be picking out a new accessory or building for the Halloween village, now our favorite time is setting it up! It's small, but is so cool when it lights up.
Secondly, every Halloween we go and buy our Hallmark ornaments for the year. Yeah I know. But if you go too late in the year you can't get the really neat ones with motion! So we confuse the kids and do a bit of Christmas on Halloween too. Don't worry, we are equal opportunity holiday lovers!

Linda Carroll-Bradd
When my kids were in grade school, they always decorated jack-o-lanterns the weekend before the holiday so they could light the candles for several nights before Halloween.
My husband loves Halloween and for six years he turned our front yard into a “haunted space” with a headstone and grave surrounded by picket fence and a robotic scary form named Evil Eddie who would periodically rise, bending from the waist. A witch perched on the edge of the garage roof and a cackle sounded on an intermittent basis. Spiders and webs hung from the eaves, a wooden bookcase held skulls lit from within with a red light. A wooden threshold crossed the walk to the porch which could be made to thump from underneath via a remote control. (husband’s fav) My adult children still talk about helping with this.

Christy Thomas
My favorite Halloween tradition starts the weekend before Halloween. I love to get in a “Spooky” mood by watching a scary movie marathon. This year, I found two movies called Angel of Death, and those are going to kick off my marathon.
Another favorite tradition is eating a good meal on Halloween. The more good food in our stomach’s the less room for all that good candy. After a sugar rush I always want to sleep, and who wants to sleep away an awesome holiday like Halloween?

Havva Murat
I would have to say that these two catch my fancy:
1) Walking down a stairway backwards in candlelight whilst staring into a handheld mirror in the hope of seeing the face of your intended (a little corny but still appealing).
2) Hosting a halloween party around a bonfire

Echo Shea
Eating candy and watching scary movies.

Lisa A. Adams
I love Halloween and go overboard for it. I know this. I decorate my house more for Halloween and fall than I do for Christmas. It’s true! And that’s our first tradition that my family has. The first weekend of October is “set-up” weekend. The house is cleaned, and the decorations come out. Ceiling to floor, inside and out, we all work together to make it an amazing scene. Which leads to the 2nd tradition. The last weekend before Halloween, all of the family and a lot of friends get together at my house for pumpkin carving and food. We have a turkey feast and a lot of foods that are cooked with autumn harvested ingredients. Our highest number to date has been thirty-one pumpkins in one night.

Lily Carlyle
Bobbing for apples and eating chocolate. I wish I could say carving pumpkins, but mine always end up looking demented and I can’t pretend to actually enjoy scooping out all that orange, slimy goop from inside the pumpkin.
