LUSCIOUS by SABRINA YORK

When Deveny Hargrove rescues a waif in a rainstorm in the middle of nowhere, he has no idea that she represents his long-awaited chance at vengeance. When she offers him her virginity—in an attempt to escape an unwanted society marriage—he has to agree. To his surprise, very little of his motivation stems from punishing her brother.

The fact is, Matilda Paddington represents his chance at revenge...or redemption…but his choice could destroy them both.

What Providence. That this man—one who, other than the beard, was perfectly acceptable for her purposes, and damn handsome to boot—should stop and pick her up?
Clearly God in heaven above was on her side.
“You do realize this is something that cannot be undone?”
She had the sense he was asking the question purely because his moral code required it. “I do.”
“You are quite young…to be making a decision that will change everything.”
“Everything?” she asked. “Do you really believe that one act changes who a person is? At their core?”
He stared at her as though stunned to hear such words from a lady’s lips. But then he said, “I certainly hope not.”
His tone was so dark, so tormented, she had to ask, “Have you done things?” Things that changed him irrevocably?
“Madam, I have just returned from France.”
“Ooh.” How fascinating. “Are you a soldier?”
“I was. An officer in the King’s Dragoons.”
Oh. A cavalry man. She loved horses. “Did you see much action?”
“Far too much.”
“I am sorry.”
He blinked and she realized how lovely his eyes were. A light blue, almost crystalline, with large pupils and a dark ring around the irises, making it hard to look away. “Why are you sorry?” he said, his voice dropping low.
“You must have suffered.”
“I was injured.”
“Yes, but I meant spiritually.”
“Spiritually?” His tone indicated he’d never even considered those wounds.
“War is hell,” she said. She knew of such things. She’d read several books on the topic.
“Yes. It is.”
“But you are home now. And safe.”
“Yes.” He looked out the window and stroked his beard as though he were remembering some of his losses.
She wished one of them had been the beard.
She really disliked beards on men.
“So do you?”
His attention jerked back to her. “What?”
“Do you really believe one act can change a person?”
“I think everything we do, everything we say, every breath we take changes us.”
She blew out an impatient breath. “That is far too deep a rumination for this conversation.”
“Is it?” Why he seemed amused was a mystery.
“Most certainly. We are talking about my giving myself to a man who is not and never shall be my husband.”
“We are talking about you giving your innocence to a man you do not know. Do you have any idea how dangerous that can be?”
“I suppose it would be dangerous.” She had to admit this. “But it is not dangerous with you.”
He reared back. An odd mixture of shock and anger and confusion crossed his face. “How can you possibly know what kind of man I am? What I could do to you when I got you alone? Damn it, Tildy, I could be a monster for all you know.”
“But you’re not.” She knew. She could see it in his eyes.
As her words soaked in, she saw it blossom there, his deep gratification for her trust. But he sighed and scrubbed his face and said “Tildy,” in a tone that made clear he was about to turn her down.
So she went on the offensive. “However, if you do not want to be the one to deflower me, I totally understand. I imagine it can be rather unsettling to be approached by a woman with such a request.”
He murmured, “You have no idea,” beneath his breath, but she heard.
She patted his knee. “And you were injured in the war.”
His features scrunched up. He stared at her hand. “Just what is that supposed to mean?”
She batted her lashes in an attempt to portray her innocence. “I know what happens when men are injured in war.” She leaned closer. “They become incapable. I totally understand.”
“I am not incapable!” Surely there was no need for him to bellow.
“Unwilling then?”
“Bloody hell, no.”
“It is perfectly acceptable if you do not find me attractive. I do look rather like a drowned rat. I am sure I can find someone on the streets of London who is willing to do the deed.” She sighed heavily, just for effect, and then added, “I do hope I don’t get the pox.”
Silence sizzled between them. She determinedly held his gaze, despite the fact that his stare was fierce. His lips worked, as though he was attempting to form a response, several responses, as the moment stretched, and then he reached across the carriage, took hold of her arms and whipped her onto his lap as though she weighed no more than a thistledown.
“Not interested?” he growled. “How is this for not interested?”
And then, he kissed her.
And heaven.
As enchanting as those lips had felt dancing over her hand, it was nothing to this. This was as wild as the storm raging outside, but still unbearably gentle and sweet. His scent suffused her, filled her lungs and stirred some latent hunger deep within. She wanted more. More. More.
And this desire had little to do with her goal of wriggling free of an unwanted betrothal. It had only to do with him. This man. This hunger. This passion.
She’d never felt it before. Not like this.
She’d only felt a passion for passion, which was very different indeed.
His body was warm, heating her. His hands roved, scudding over her shoulders and down to her waist to hold her in place. His lips were hard on her, demanding, yet sensitive to her needs. They engulfed her senses in a velvet trap, one she did not want to escape.
He pulled her closer, settled her more firmly on his lap and leaned her against the wall of the carriage and deepened the kiss, easing in his tongue and tasting her. She had to respond, but she had no idea how her untried exploration would affect him.
Something hard grew against her hip. The knowledge of what it was lit a fire in her belly. Need blossomed and raged. She thrust her fingers in his hair, twining in the strands and tugging. He did the same until they were holding each other still, each consuming the other.
Her mind spun, her body awoke. That long dreamed of desire arose.
She had no idea why, with one harsh movement, he pushed her back into her seat.
They stared at each other across the width of the carriage, the only sounds, their panted breath.
Heat walked between them. Ribbons of carnal lust bound them close, though they no longer touched. Intensity roared.
“Why did you stop?” She didn’t intend for her voice to crack, to be filled with anguish, but it happened.
His lungs worked like a bellows. His stare burned through her. His brow was prickled with sweat, despite the chill of the evening. “Not here.” A whisper, rough and low.
“Not here?”
“I won’t take you in a carriage. You deserve better.”
Oh, she liked that he thought so. She thought so too. “Where then?”
“I am staying the night at a friend’s house in London. Large, comfortable bed. A crackling fire. Excellent wine. All the comforts a proper seduction requires.”
She could not hold back a grin. “Oh. Is this a proper seduction?”
“It will be.” He settled back in his seat and studied her. There was something in his expression that made it clear to her what he was thinking. He was plotting her seduction. She shuddered.
“You really don’t need to seduce me, you know.”
His lips quirked. “Seduction is half the fun. Besides, you deserve to know all the pleasure there is to be had between a man and a woman.”
Her brow furrowed. “I thought there was just the tupping.” She knew all about it. She raised horses, after all. The male simply mounted the female and they danced around for a bit and then a foal came in the spring. It all seemed pretty simple.
“Oh, there’s more than that.”
“Is there? Do tell.”
“I will not. I’d rather show you. I don’t want to ruin the surprise.”

MY REVIEW FOR LUSCIOUS BY SABRINA YORK

I started this novella and could not put it down. The characters are entertaining, the writing style flows and you are totally drawn into the story.

Matilda Paddington does not want an arranged marriage, she wants to marry a man she loves so decides to take matters into her own hands and runs away from her brothers home - in order to find some one to help her lose her virginity and then her brothers choice of groom will not want to marry her.

Deveney Hargrove has hired a coach to take him back to his friends home until he can claim his title and property that falls with it. While travelling down the country lane the coach hits a puddle and drenches a person walking at the side if it. When Dev looks he notices that it is a woman and stops to offer her a lift. This is when Tildy (Matilda) accepts his offer and steps into the carriage, he asks her why she is travelling on her own and this is when she tells him her plan and then offers herself to him so that she can rid herself of her groom.

The story line then goes onto tell you whether Dev accepts her offer and the twists that ensue. I thoroughly enjoyed this tale and look forward to reading more from Sabrina York.

Review: Sleepless In Manhattan

Sleepless In Manhattan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read a few of Sarah Morgan's books and I always eagerly await a new one to be published and this one was well worth the wait. It had me hooked from the start, the characters are well developed, the story line is well written and I can not wait for book 2 in this series. This story is about friendship, trust, loyalty, attraction, romance, under currents, friends to lovers and realising what you want.

The story starts with Paige thinking she is getting a promotion and she ends up losing the job she loves. So she has a big decisions to make along with her friends Eva and Frankie. The night of losing their jobs, Matt (Paiges brother) and Jake (an entrepreneur) their mutual friend come round thinking they are going to celebrate a promotion to find out that Paige lost the job. Matt and Jake commiserate with the girls but during the night Jake passes comment on why the three of them can not start their own business- an events company and this plants the seed in Paige's mind. Matt then mentions that maybe Jake could help Paige with the planning as he is whizz with business.

However Paige does not want to ask for help and starts the business and finds herself struggling so she then goes to Jake and asks him for his help. It took Paige awhile to ask Jake because Paige had a major crush on him when they were younger and is still embarrassed by it.

This leads to them spending more time together and things develop, chemistry explodes between them but Jake is not a forever type of guy and Paige knows this so she asks Jake to keep their relationship to themselves, so when its over they can just carry on being friends with no awkwardness from any of their friends.

All in all there is love, laughter and tears with this book. All the characters are different and interact brilliantly with each other, so I hope we get at least a couple of more books with these characters involved.

I give this books a definite 5 stars. Congratulations Sarah on another fabulous book.

Magical, fantasy romance…with a twist from Sabrina York

READ AN EXCERPT
Aimalee shivered as an unfamiliar inclination struck her. She wanted to drop the pillow and press her body against him. Rub against him. He was so beautiful. So perfect. She longed to touch him.
Of its own volition, her hand rose. At the last instant, just before their flesh connected, she curled her fingers.

He winced as she withdrew, winced as though she’d slapped him. Tiny tears clung to his lashes. “Please, Aimalee.” His voice was ragged. “Please touch me.”

She stepped away, ignoring the desolation sweeping across his countenance. It cost her but she forced those primal urges down, back into her subconscious where they belonged. Something wasn’t right here. Women didn’t just suddenly transport into sumptuous bowers. Gorgeous men with smoldering eyes didn’t simply appear from thin air. And most importantly, Aimalee didn’t have thoughts like this.

She never had.

She couldn’t give in to these cravings. Not until she understood what was happening to her. Her analytical mind would not allow it.

As though he could read her thoughts, a frown marred his sculpted brow in fascinating furrows. He stepped closer and closer still—though not close enough to touch. His breath was warm on her face. “Don’t fight it, Aimalee. You cannot resist. Please don’t try.” He bent closer and his nostrils flared like a stallion catching the scent of a filly in season. He licked his lips.

My but they were beautiful lips.
And my, oh my. He smelled of sandalwood and sin. The combination made her head spin. She desperately attempted to eradicate these errant thoughts. “Where am I? What happened?” More questions swirled but this was a good place to start.

“Please.” Beads of sweat dimpled his upper lip. Heat roiled from his broad chest. Everything about him was hard. “Not now. No questions now.” He whirled away with a growl, showing her his back, frustration clear in every rigid line. As he moved, the dim light glinted off the metal encircling his neck. Aimalee realized it was hewn of the same strange iridescent metal of the lamp.

Certainty dawned and with it a sense of incredulity. “I’m inside the lamp.”
He shot a glance at her over his hunched shoulder, a wounded animal. “Y-you touched it.”
“I’ve touched it many times before.”
“Many times.” A shudder racked him. He began to shiver, to shake. “But never with…never with…” Never with…what? He didn’t complete the thought, as though the words were too painful to utter. He moaned in agony and stumbled into the shadows.

She followed, racked with worry—he looked as though he was dying—and lightly touched his shoulder. He froze at the contact, sucking in a deep gasp of air, exhaling it on a small whimper. As their flesh connected, a sizzle shot up her arm, rocketing to her core. Something tight within her released.

And then she realized…the release hadn’t come from within her.

It had come from within him.

Invisible chains binding him shattered and fell away.

He straightened and stood. Sublime relief descended upon him like a cloud. “Thank you,” he gasped. “Thank you, Aimalee.” He drew his knuckles along the curve of her shoulder then trailed down her arm, sending riots of sensation through her. “You touched it with your bare hands, you see. And the lamp brought you to me,” he said, answering her earlier—long forgotten—question. He caressed her hand, lifted it to his lips then drew her thumb into his mouth and gently sucked.

Molten lava, deep in her core, churned and spat.
She knew she should not allow this. She knew she should pull away. The voice of sanity within her whispered as much. Trouble was, that voice of sanity was starting to recede. “W-why?” It was the only word she could manage. The only thought she could conjure.

He kissed her knuckles, one by one. “You are here for me, Aimalee. For this.” His scalding touch trailed back up her arm. She jerked in reaction but didn’t protest. Her body was heavy, drugged with desire. Her mind befuddled, rapt in it. Enthralled.

He tugged gently at the pillow she held before her. She watched in mute dismay as he tossed her armor carelessly aside. “God, Aimalee. You are even more beautiful in the flesh.”
Reverently, he cupped her breast. And then his head descended and those lips—those delicious lips—wrapped around a coral crest. Sucked. Pleasure rocked her. Exquisite trills danced along her spine. Tremors rippled through her womb.

But still…she resisted. As difficult as it was to fight against the alluring enchantment he was weaving—and it was difficult—she lurched back and gasped, “Who are you?”
Instead of answering, he scraped her nipple—sending spirals of delight coiling up her spine. Oh! It was getting harder and harder to resist him. Harder to focus on her outrage as he enticed her deeper into his web.

But she was not the only one besieged by temptation. His body was taut as a bowstring; he fairly hummed with the tension.

He pulled her into his arms. The shock of his hot skin against hers from chest to groin made her light-headed. He traced the line of her back from her buttocks to her shoulder blades.
“I am sorry, Aimalee,” he murmured, his tone limned with remorse. “But I cannot answer your questions anymore. I cannot wait. It has been far too long.” He lifted her hair and bent to place a gentle kiss on her nape. With his tongue, his velvet, drugging tongue, he traced a strange and sinuous symbol there.

A peculiar warmth blossomed where he’d licked her. It drifted down her arms, across her chest, infused her body and soul. Her nipples tightened. Her body liquefied. A hot rush of arousal seeped from her womb. Her clitoris throbbed and a scorching hunger growled and snapped like a long-caged beast.

She wanted him.

She wanted him like she had never wanted a man before. Savagely.
She ached to fist her fingers in his hair and drag him down on top of her. To take his lips with her own. Suck on his tongue. Consume him. Grind against that magnificent cock until he howled with need. Until he took her. Fucked her. Impaled her.

Her mind reeled with pleasure and passion…and confusion.

What was this?

This was not like her.

Not like her at all.

Hadn’t Carter told her repeatedly that she was frigid?

She had never wanted like this. Ached like this. Needed like this.

“What are you doing to me?” Even to her own ears, the cry was laced with pleasure, desire, delirium. She placed her palm flat on his chest to push him away but at that touch, passion swelled—the passion in her and the passion in him, tangling, twining. His skin was smooth but his hard muscles bunched beneath her touch.

He threw his head back and groaned in ecstasy. Or perhaps agony. Or both.
“I can’t. I need… I want to…” He hissed through his teeth. “But I cannot wait. I cannot.”
Easing her down onto the cushions, he covered her. The sensation of his hot, sweat-dampened skin against hers sent a shock wave through her. He nudged her legs apart. Neared. She writhed beneath him, eager, wanton, lost in wonder. Ravenous for him. Impatient.

He did not make her wait.

Review: It Had To Be You: Man of the Year 2016

It Had To Be You: Man of the Year 2016

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I give it 5 stars.

I have never read either of these authors before so it was great to receive this ARC to be introduced to them and I loved their writing style.

Molly Cooper’s Dream Date by Barbara Hannay

Is about a woman who dreams off an English gentleman to sweep her off her feet. Molly lives on Magnetic Island Queensland Australia and she gets a chance to house swap with a man from England and after some thought she jumps at the chance. However Molly keeps in touch with her house guest through emails and starts to wish that she could meet him.

Shipwrecked with Mr Wrong by Nikki Logan

Honor Brier has had a sad past and goes to live on a Pulu Keeling to monitor the birds and turtles to get away from civilization as she is the only person on the island - until Rob Dalton gets shipwrecked on her island until help can come to help him fix the crack in his hull. Honor is not used to having someone with her and struggles as she can see that Rob is a player and wants him to leave straight away as she does not want to feel anything.

Both these stories kept me entertained with the ups and downs. The characters were well thought out and I loved how they both found their HEA's.

COVER REVEAL Hold Me Now by Addison Moore

TITLE: Hold Me Now
(A Totally 80’s Romance 3)
AUTHOR: Addison Moore
GENRE: YA Romance
COVER: Gaffey Media
RELEASE DATE: March 17, 2016

Welcome to 1985… Big hair, leg warmers, bitchin’ music, and the Brat Pack—what’s not to love about the 80’s? Head back to 1985 in Hold Me Now (A Totally 80’s Romance 3)! December 1985

Senior year is really shaping up to be something. In an effort to turn my humdrum life around, I decide to take a walk on the wild side. By the time graduation hits, everyone will know who I am. Only, things don’t exactly go as planned. They go horribly, terribly wrong right out of the streaking gate. Not only have I embarrassed myself in front of Jessie Fox, the only boy I’ve ever had a crush on, but the entire basketball team now has an obscene nickname just for me. Sadly, I got my wish, everybody knows who I am. Yeah, senior year is really shaping up to be something.

Jennifer Barkly has caught my eye before, but I don’t know why I didn’t zero in on her sooner. As soon as she started tutoring my little sister, I knew I wanted to keep her in my life. Things have been a little chaotic on the girl front for the last few years. I’ve got chicks lining up for whatever I’m willing to give them, and, for the most part, it’s been fun, but lately it’s not feeling so great anymore. I want to slow it down, rein it in. Jennifer wants to go wild just as I’m looking to explore my mild side. I think maybe we should meet in the middle. I’ll be her wild if she’ll be my mild. It’s a nice balance that could work for the both of us. I’m sort of hoping it’s Jennifer and I that will work in the end.

My name is Tess Nichols. And my name is Rachel Torres. Jessie Fox belongs to us. Sure he’s gifted a hickey necklace to just about every girl on campus, but we’re his tried and true, forever by his side, and in his bed girls. And now this little skank Jennifer comes along and thinks she’s going to break us up? Like fer sure. I’m so serious. Jennifer might think she’s going to weasel her way into his bedroom, but we’re not going down without a fight. We know a dirty little thing or two about little Ms. Innocent. And we also know a thing or two about making a wannabe “Jessie’s girl” disappear from our boyfriend’s life forever. Jennifer isn’t the first ho we’ve evicted from his harem, and she won’t be the last. Yeah, my name is Tess Nichols. And my name is Rachel Torres. Jessie Fox belongs to us. Hold Me Now (A Totally ‘80s Romance 3) It’s like totally awesome.

Review: Bidding on the Billionaire and RELEASE BLITZ

BIDDING ON THE BILLIONAIRE
Seattle Bachelors #1
JM Stewart
Releasing March 1st, 2016
Forever: Forever Yours

Safety. Anonymity. Invisibility.

Those are just a few advantages of Internet “dating.” Even better, as far as Hannah Miller is concerned, is the fact that she can shed all inhibitions without worrying about what he thinks of her figure or her face. “He” is bikerboy357, the man who knows what Hannah likes, and wants her—every night—as much as she wants him. When he asks to meet, Hannah hesitates. But the temptation is too strong. And after one look into his sultry green eyes, there’s no turning back.

Cade MacKenzie’s never met a woman who’s wasn’t blinded by his billion-dollar net worth, but “H” knows neither his face nor his name. Her words are so smart, sweet, and scorchingly sexy that Cade’s willing to gamble she’ll be just as amazing in person. And she is. But even as every delicious encounter makes Cade want Hannah more, what he wants most is her trust.

It’s something all his money can’t buy. And now, Cade will do anything to earn it.

Bidding on the Billionaire

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received and ARC of this book for an honest review.

Hannah Miller has been used and called due to her appearance by men in the past so she has major trust issues where men are concerned, when she starts to 'chat' to bikerboy357 about a book they have both read and they start to have real discussions on books, life and their wants she finds that this way of dating does not hurt and she can be who she really is and lose all her inhibitions as they have not swapped real names and they go by their chat room names.

Cade MacKenzie is a Billionaire and has been taken advantage of in the past so he is gun shy with women as they generally only want him for his money or position, however he feels comfortable chatting to H, she does not know him so he knows their discussions are real. After months of chatting every day Cade asks Hannah can he call her.

When Cade asks Hannah can he call her, she does not know what to do as she wants to hear his voice but she is frightened so Cade puts the ball in her court and gives her is number.

Well the saying is- one thing leads to another and the online dating leads to meeting in person. One little hitch though Hannah had told Cade she is Blonde with long legs as she perceives this to be what men want and she is not.

This story is about trust, friendship, healing, romance, love and finding the one. It is also a HOT one. I loved the way this story pans out and how the secondary characters are involved, I am now waiting with baited breath for the next installment. WOW Joanne Stewart what an amazing book.
