This is the 2nd installment of the Wilde's of Birch Bay books. The first book in the series was Montana Cherries and I highly recommend you reading this book first as it explains alot of the characters upbringing
In this 2nd installment, the story is based around a bull rider named Nick Wilde and his teenage crush Harper Stone. Nick has big decisions to make about what he wants to do with his career - he has been asked to go PRO bull riding but he is unsure if this is the step he wants to make so after a rodeo, he is looking for a lift back to his family's ranch because he is looking after it while is father is on vacation but due to his truck breaking down he needs to ask for help, so he asks his best friend Jewel (Harper's sister) only to find out that they are staying the night but she says she knows someone who could give him a lift and his good deed turns out to be Harper who offers to take him home.
Both Nick and Harper need to heal hidden wounds, Nicks stem back from his past but Harper's stem from 18 months ago when she lost her husband and she has never fully recovered from his death. Nick is still attracted to Harper so when she starts to flirt with him it gives him hope that Harper finally sees him as a man . He is shocked after all this time that Harper is attracted to him but he really wants to help Harper heal so this is a story about becoming friends, fighting your demons, learning to trust and love again, letting family in and realising that you can get second chance at love.
I have given this book 5 stars as the characters are well developed and the story flows seamlessly. A definite MUST READ in my opinion.
