I give this book 5 stars.

I generally only read adult romance novels, but Suzanne Brockmann is one of my favourite authors and I was drawn to read this book, and I am so glad I did.  Suspense, kidnapping, murder, paranormal activities, clues, friendship, and attraction are all packed into this book and I definitely recommend it even though it says its for age 14+, which nearly put me off at first because I am over forty, but take it from me - its well worth a read.

Suzanne and Melanie definitely make a good writing team, they drop clues into the story which make you think and everything is always explained as you go along.  I will be looking out for the next book by this mother/daughter team.

Skylar Reid thinks she is an ordinary sixteen year old, she attends school, babysits and goes out with her friend Calvin. Then on one unfortunate night, her life is turned upside down.  The little girl she baby sits disappears, she starts to smell things that other people can not, she has nightmares about the little girls disappearance, she is held at gun point by a mad woman and saved by a motorcycle girl, who then keeps popping up. 

Dana (motorcycle girl) is a Greater Than (G-T) and she helps Skylar to understand the world she is in and she helps her with her powers. Together with Calvin and Milo they try to save the people from the Destiny Addicts and from the people who supply and manufacture the product that sends people mad.

Can the magic of Christmas turn a make-believe wedding into the real thing?

 I give this book 5 stars.

I started reading this book by Donna Fasano and it touched my heart because I can connect with the characters in this story.

The story is about a father, daughter, a wish list and a caring nurse.  Izzie is very ill with cancer, she is an avid list maker and she has asked her father for a family Christmas with a make believe mommy as she lost her mum 2 years ago, and this is where the story starts with Aaron (the father) asking the staff at the hospital if anyone can help him give his daughter (Izzie), the family Christmas she wants. Christy (the nurse) steps forward and offers her assistance, to help Aaron help Izzie to tick off everything on her list.

I have to congratulate Donna Fasano on the compassionate way she has written this sad and beautiful love story, I read it in one sitting because I was drawn into this book. Emotion and love comes alive in these pages.

EXCERPT:

“Gloves, hat, scarf, insulated jacket,” she said. “I’m ready.”

He paused long enough to shoot her a serious look. “You’re being a great sport about all of this, Christy. Being dragged out in the cold on Christmas Eve is going above the call.”

She smiled at him, and suddenly he couldn’t seem to draw a breath. He felt as if he was really seeing her for the first time, and she was a stunningly beautiful woman.
Izzie rapped on his window.

Her voice was muffled as she urged, “Come on, Daddy.”

The adults exited the car, and as soon as Aaron closed the door, he looked across the roof at Christy. Her blond hair curled softly around her shoulders, and her hands were stuffed into her jacket pockets. She walked up the ramp toward the boardwalk, and Aaron couldn’t help but notice how nicely she filled out her jeans with soft curves.

He’d realized she had a kind and giving nature; no one would sacrifice their own Christmas for the sake of a child unless that person was very special, indeed. But why hadn’t he noticed just how pretty she was? Or how enticingly her hips swayed when she walked?

“Oh, wow, how pretty!”

Aaron had to smile when his daughter shouted out the very words that were racing through his head. Of course, Izzie was describing something totally different.

Risking It All by Joanne Stewart REVIEW - Emotion leaps off these pages.

I give this book 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by Joanne Stewart and let me say Joanne brought feeling and emotion to life in this story with a beautiful way with words.

Cecilia and Kyle have been friends for 20 years, they have always been there for one another through thick and thin. They have a relationship that meant that either one could always call on the other at any time of night and day. However Kyle's feeling towards Ceci changes and he has to endure Ceci dating other men, dealing with 

her grandmothers death and trying to deal with the nightmares that plague her. Ceci can not remember anything of her childhood before the age of 7 and this story is about her finding her past, learning to trust and giving her love to the one man that deserves it.

What a wonderful book, you can almost taste the emotion coming from the pages. Every woman deserves a Kyle. Congratulations Joanne on a great 'MUST READ' book.

An intense need for distance seized him. Half afraid he’d lose his mind and do something else he’d regret, like pull her into his arms and show her why he’d kissed her, he shot to his feet.

“I need to know, Kyle.”

Her soft footsteps sounded behind him. “You can’t just do something like that and walk away and expect me not to question it. You blow hot and cold, do you know that? I know 

desire when I see it, yet you just keep walking away.”

“Ever think maybe I wanted to kiss you?” The words left his mouth on a hoarse whisper, and God help him, a desperate need to see her eyes seized him. He turned to find her directly behind him. She stared for a fraction of a second too long, heat and curiosity blazed in her eyes. A heartbeat later, a light blush stole into her cheeks, but she didn’t move, didn’t say a word.

Everything inside of him ground to a halt, his mind twisting off in another direction. I’ll be damned. If ever he needed a confirmation, there it was. Whatever had happened between them was definitely not one-sided.
